Plans to develop Centrepoint Community Centre include proposals for a community facility and a local shop.
Centrepoint development: have your say on a new community space and local shop
We have looked at all the sites in Watford where more social housing – which is the most affordable for families on the lowest incomes – can be built. The Centrepoint site is ideal for this type of housing and we are continuing to look at other possible sites.
Social housing is for people – mostly families – who are on Watford’s housing register because they desperately need help to put a roof over their heads. Everyone on the register is local to Watford and has to have lived in the town for at least five years out of the last six. As of June this year, there are 153 households in temporary accommodation in Watford. 126 of these have children or are expecting a child. The proposed homes on the Centrepoint site would give 1 in 10 of these families a home.
